It's about connecting employers who need skilled workers and ideally building a system of successful organizations because no one organization can do it all.
Workforce development organizations must collectively understand the labor supply issues in a region and develop strategies for people to get jobs and businesses to get skilled workers.
North Memphis CDC has a promising plan to expand this development process. Currently, we have employed individuals in our community through lawn care, cleaning services, moving and administration.
It was a truly joyful time to finally receive our landscape maintenance truck; the truck is used to maintain the properties where we house the homeless.
The reality is that not everyone will be a productive member of society; what is more the reality, is how we will know how productive one may be, if never given plausible opportunities...
Putting back in to the community for which we serve, supplying jobs to those that are helping us build their neighborhood back to a better place to live work and play, is what NMCDC is all about - That is the joy!
